Braden Couch is an associate at Neary Law LLC, where he focuses on defending clients against criminal allegations and charges in State, Federal and Municipal Courts.

In addition to drafting and arguing motions in New Jersey Superior Court on serious first- and second-degree crimes, Braden defends clients against disorderly conduct offenses in various North Jersey municipal courts and works extensively on criminal appeals in New Jersey.

Prior to joining the firm, Braden served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in Newark, gaining skills in appellate writing and oral argument before both the New Jersey Superior Court-Appellate Division and New Jersey Supreme Court. He also worked in the Domestic Violence Unit, where he orally argued pretrial detention motion hearings, presented cases to grand jury panels, and helped victims prepare for grand jury testimony.

Following graduation from law school, Braden served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Frances Vernoia J.A.D., in the New Jersey Supreme Court, Appellate Division; and earlier as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Edward Jerejian, PJCh.

During law school in North Carolina, Braden held a number of legal positions including Assistant Public Defender-Third Year Practice Attorney in the Orange County Public Defender’s Office for the North Carolina District Court; Summer Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Mae D’Agostiono in the Northern District of New York; and Summer Legal Intern in the Office of the New York State Attorney General.

Braden enjoys volunteering, fundraising, and biking. As a lifelong Boston sports fan, he also struggles against the wave of New York sports fans in the region.
